"The Keene State College Concert Band will perform Different Voices, a program featuring solos and sounds not typical for a band concert, on Thursday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Redfern Arts Center ....... Soloists have traditionally been an important part of band concerts since the days of John Philip Sousa and before, but in more contemporary years vocal soloists are rare. This year's program features two soloists, one vocal and one wind, and includes works by classical and contemporary composers......Bassoon soloist Amanda Kosloski, from West Harwich, Mass., is a senior music performance major at KSC and will graduate in December. Since attending KSC, she has participated in The New England Intercollegiate Band and has been a member of the KSC Concert Band, KSC Chamber Orchestra, KSC Concert Choir, and KSC Percussion Ensemble. Kosloski will be featured during a piece written by Burrill Phillips." Read the entire article here. Keene State College News.

is attending UMASS Amherst majoring in Wildlife and Fishery Conservation. He reports: "I began to feel a longing for singing in vocal ensembles over the past year. Luckily, my sight-reading and vocal techniques weren’t too rusty and I was accepted into The Umass Chorale this semester. To my surprise, I was asked to attend the call-back audition for Chamber Choir. I got into that too! I have already had two performances with Chamber Choir in which we sang the following songs a capella and by memory: “Make Thou In Me, God” by Johannes Bahms; “Singet dem Hern” by Hugo Distler, “Os Justi” by Anton Bruckner; and “Ecce Quomodo Moritur” by Jacob Hand."
Annie Lynch, '04 will soon be releasing an album. Annie Lynch and the Beekeepers is a Boston-based, acoustic alternative folk group comprised of artists from a variety of musical backgrounds. While the songs performed by the quartet originated as Annie’s folk tunes, the music has evolved and expanded with rich arrangements for upright bass, cello, mandolin, banjo, accordion, and the occasional saw solo. Annie Lynch and the Beekeepers perform strong, passionate and, most importantly, honest music with poetic lyrical content and unique layered harmonies. Annie is currently majoring in Professional Music at Berklee School of Music and will graduate in Spring '08.
