Alyssa reviews music she just received for the All State Music Festival
with Music teacher, Rosemarie Richard

Harwich High School senior, Alyssa Flynn (voice-alto) will attend the All-State Music Festival (March 24-26) in Boston that is held in conjunction with the Massachusetts Music Educators Association Annual Conference. This honor was bestowed upon her after she received high scores in auditions held January 29 in Shrewsbury, MA. High scores in the Southeast District auditions held in November 2010 were a prerequisite.

Alyssa competed with approximately 1000 Massachusetts students from 250 public and private high schools. The 450 students chosen to join the honors band, orchestra and chorus, will rehearse with nationally recognized conductors at the Seaport Hotel and perform in a gala concert at Symphony Hall on Saturday, March 26.

Alyssa was a member of the Women's Honor Choir of the Eastern Division Conference of the American Choral Directors' Association that held its conference in Philadelphia in February 2010. (HHSFOTA contributed to the cost of her trip.) She was one of six singers from Massachusetts in an approximately 140 member chorus. She was also a member of the 2008 All Cape Chorus, and 2009 and 2010 All CapeTreble Choirs.
